Chalcedony is a microcrystalline quartz (SiO₂) with a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7. Its characteristic soft blue to blue-gray color is created by tiny inclusions and its unique crystal structure. The slightly translucent, milky quality is a typical feature of genuine chalcedony. The faceted cut makes the delicate 4 mm beads sparkle softly. The knot is concealed under a silver bead. Major deposits: Turkey, Namibia, Brazil, India, USA.
Significance in Crystal Healing
Since antiquity, chalcedony has been considered the "speaker's stone." It is said to promote communication, oratory skills, and self-expression, as well as strengthen composure, inner harmony, and emotional balance. It is believed to encourage sociability and empathy and is associated with the throat chakra. These attributions are based on tradition and are not scientifically proven. They are not a substitute for medical treatment.
