Chrysocolla is a copper silicate mineral (Cu₂₋ₓAlₓH₂₋ₓSi₂O₅(OH)₄·nH₂O) with a Mohs hardness of 2–4. The name comes from the Greek: "chrysós" (gold) and "kólla" (glue), as the stone was used in antiquity for soldering gold. Chrysocolla forms in copper deposits and is often found alongside malachite, azurite, or turquoise, which gives it its characteristic color gradients. The special cube-shaped cut (4 mm) brings out the natural turquoise and blue-green tones in a modern and geometric way. The knot is concealed under a silver bead. Significant deposits: USA (Arizona), Peru, Chile, Congo.
Significance in Crystal Healing
Chrysocolla is considered a stone of communication and emotional balance. It is said to promote inner peace and serenity, strengthen self-expression and feminine intuition, and support emotional healing and heart energy. It is believed to be associated with the throat and heart chakras. These attributions are based on handed-down tradition and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
