Amazonite was named by Alexander von Humboldt, who called it "stone of the Amazon". It belongs to the group of potassium feldspars and displays a characteristic light blue to strong turquoise coloration, which is caused by inclusions of lead and water in the crystal lattice. The 4mm beads are ideal as main beads for bracelets or as accents in necklaces.
