The Amazonite was named by Alexander von Humboldt, who called it "Stone of Amazonia". It belongs to the group of potassium feldspars and shows a characteristic light blue to strong turquoise colouration. The fine, faceted spheres of this strand are particularly suitable for delicate jewellery work and as accent beads.
