Amazonite received its name from Alexander von Humboldt, who called it "stone of the Amazon". It belongs to the group of potassium feldspars and exhibits a characteristic light blue to strong turquoise colour, which is caused by inclusions of lead and water in the crystal lattice. The fancy cut emphasises the natural shape of the stone and gives each piece of jewellery an individual character.
