Apatite, named after the Greek apatao , "to deceive," is a stone that has been and still is easily confused with other minerals. Calcium phosphate, found worldwide, exhibits a wide variety of colors, from colorless to brown, yellow, blue, and green, and rarely pink and violet. A yellowish-green variety is also called asparagus stone.

Apatite supposedly strengthens connective tissue and thus reduces cellulite, strengthens the muscular system, and relieves joint pain, arthritis, and osteoporosis. According to literature, apatite can reduce fever and blood pressure and soothe skin irritations.

Mentally, apatite promotes greater clarity and openness, increases motivation and concentration, and balances mood swings. Apatite strengthens self-confidence and increases sociability.
