Mineralogically, apatite is a calcium phosphate and exhibits a remarkable variety of colors: colorless, brown, yellow, green, blue, and rarely pink and violet. A yellowish-green variety is also called asparagus stone. The green variety displays a fresh, lively play of colors from green to greenish-blue.
