Chalcedony is a microcrystalline quartz with a silky luster and a characteristic, delicate blue-grey color. The name is derived from the ancient city of Chalcedon (today Kadiköy, Turkey). The tiny 2mm balls with a fine faceted cut are ideal for delicate jewelry work, as accent beads, or for delicate, multi-strand necklaces. Locations: worldwide, significant occurrences in Turkey, Brazil, India, and Namibia.
