Designer teardrop faceted necklace with Amethyst, Aquamarine, Iolite, and Moonstone

Four stones in shades of blue and purple that complement each other in color and energy: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Iolite, and Moonstone. The teardrop-faceted stones refract light in delicate reflections, giving the necklace a serene, elegant depth. With a silver extension chain, it can be individually adjusted in length and rests softly on the neck.

  • Cut: Teardrop, faceted – lively play of light due to precise cut edges
  • Length 42–45 cm – continuously adjustable thanks to the extension chain
  • Four stone types: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Iolite (Cordierite), Moonstone
  • Mineralogy: three different mineral families – Quartz, Beryl, Cordierite, and Feldspar
  • Unique piece – color nuances and stone arrangement vary from piece to piece

Mineralogy & History

This necklace unites stones from four different mineral families – a mineralogical Besonderheit that distinguishes it from simple quartz combinations:

Amethyst is a variety of quartz (SiO₂) and gets its violet color from iron ions and natural radiation deep within the earth. It is one of the oldest gemstones in human history and was as valuable as rubies or sapphires in antiquity. Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale.

Aquamarine belongs to the Beryl family (Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈) and owes its characteristic blue-green color to iron ions. Its name is derived from the Latin aqua marina (seawater). Significant deposits are found in Brazil, Pakistan, and Mozambique. Hardness: 7.5–8 on the Mohs scale.

Iolite, mineralogically known as Cordierite (Mg₂Al₄Si₅O₁₈), displays a fascinating optical phenomenon: pleochroism – depending on the viewing angle, it appears violet-blue, grey, or almost colorless. Vikings are said to have used it as a navigational aid to determine the sun's position on cloudy days. Hardness: 7–7.5 on the Mohs scale.

Moonstone belongs to the Feldspar group (Orthoclase/Adularia) and is known for its characteristic shimmer, the so-called adularescence effect – a bluish-white play of light created by the refraction of light on internal layered structures. It is primarily mined in Sri Lanka, India, and Myanmar. Hardness: 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale.

Meaning in Crystal Healing

The four stones in this necklace are associated in crystal healing with intuition, inner peace, and emotional depth – a harmonious combination for people seeking clarity and connection with themselves:

Amethyst is considered a stone of inner peace and clarity. It is believed to calm the mind, interrupt racing thoughts, and help with overwhelm. Associated with the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, it is often used in meditation.

Aquamarine in crystal healing is associated with clarity, courage, and calm communication. It is said to help organize thoughts and keep a cool head during difficult conversations. Associated with the Throat Chakra, it is considered a stone of honest, calm expression.

Iolite is described as a stone of inner guidance – just as it served as a compass for the Vikings, it is also said to help find one's inner path. It is associated with the Third Eye Chakra and is believed to strengthen intuition and self-knowledge.

Moonstone is considered a stone of intuition, femininity, and emotional depth. It is connected with the moon's rhythm and the water element and is believed to help perceive and accept emotions without being overwhelmed by them. Associated with the Crown Chakra and the Sacral Chakra, it is particularly valued during periods of change.

Note: The described effects stem from the tradition of crystal healing and are not scientifically proven statements. Gemstones are not a substitute for medical or therapeutic treatment.

General Notes

All stones used are natural products – slight color differences and individual inclusions are signs of their authenticity. For care, a soft, dry cloth is sufficient. Please store separately from other jewelry to avoid scratches. Moonstone and Aquamarine are sensitive to chemicals – apply perfume and creams before putting on the necklace. Amethyst can fade with prolonged direct sunlight exposure.
