Kyanite beaded bracelet, 4 mm faceted

Disthene (also kyanite) is an aluminum silicate mineral (Al₂SiO₅) with a unique property: its Mohs hardness varies depending on the direction—4–4.5 parallel to the longitudinal axis, and 6–7 perpendicular to it. The name "Disthene" comes from the Greek "dis" (two) and "sthenos" (strength). The color ranges from delicate light blue to intense sky blue and indigo, often with white or transparent areas. The faceted cut makes the 4 mm beads sparkle in any light. The knot is concealed under a silver bead. Significant deposits: Brazil, Nepal, India, Austria (Alps).

Significance in crystal healing

Disthene is considered a powerful stone of clarity and communication. It is said to promote mental clarity and self-expression, release energetic blockages, and harmonize all chakras—especially the throat and third-eye chakras. A special feature: Disthene is said not to store negative energy and therefore does not require cleansing—it is even believed to be able to energetically cleanse other stones.
