Fluorite, also called fluorspar, gets its name from the Latin word "to flow." It is one of the minerals with the greatest color diversity: colorless, yellow, green, blue, and violet, and of course also as rainbow fluorite, the multicolored variety of fluorite.

It has been found in China, Argentina, India, Europe and the USA.
