Mandarin Garnet is the trade name for intensely orange spessartine garnet – named after its luminous, mandarin-like colour. The characteristic orange colouring is caused by a high manganese content in the crystal. Spessartine belongs to the garnet group, crystallises in the cubic system, and is known for its high refractive index. The 4 mm balls with their faceting make the warm colour sparkle particularly vividly and are ideal for delicate, colourful jewellery creations.
