Carnelian – its warm orange-red has fascinated people since antiquity. The Egyptians called it the "stone of blood" and wore it as a protective amulet, while the Romans carved signet rings from it. Carnelian is an orange-red variety of chalcedony that derives its color from iron oxide inclusions. The marquise cut – also known as navette – gives this pendant its elegant, elongated shape with pointed ends. Set in 925 sterling silver with a 925 silver bail.
