Labradorite is a calcium-sodium feldspar ((Ca,Na)(Al,Si)₄O₈), Mohs hardness 6–6.5, triclinic crystal system, closely related to moonstone. Its unmistakable characteristic is labradorescence – an optical phenomenon in which light is refracted and reflected by fine, parallel lamellae within the crystal lattice, creating a magical play of colors in blue, green, gold, and violet. The large, faceted 8 mm beads showcase this play of colors as an expressive statement piece of jewelry. Locations: Canada (Labrador, its namesake), Finland, Madagascar, Russia.
Significance in crystal healing
Labradorite is considered a stone of balance, transformation, and intuition. It is said to harmonize emotions, inhibit aggression, and balance emotional extremes. It is believed to strengthen creativity, self-confidence, and spiritual perception, as well as protect against negative energies. It is said to be associated with the brow and throat chakras. These attributions are based on traditional lore and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
