In this gemstone necklace, labradorite appears as a classic 3 mm bead chain in a mysterious grey. The round, smooth shape of the beads highlights the mystical play of colors of labradorescence: depending on the incidence of light, the stones shimmer in deep blue, vibrant green, warm gold, delicate violet, or orange. Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar ((Ca,Na)(Al,Si)₄O₈) with a Mohs hardness of 6–6.5. Labradorescence is caused by light interference on thin layers of varying composition within the crystal.
