Larimar is a blue pectolite found worldwide exclusively in a single mine in the Dominican Republic. It was discovered in 1974 and named after the discoverer's daughter (Larissa) and the Spanish word for sea (mar). In crystal healing, it is considered a stone of peace and communication.
