Moonstone belongs to the feldspar group and is closely related to labradorite. Its characteristic feature is adularescence – a soft, blue to whitish shimmering light that appears to glide across the surface when the stone is turned. Moonstone was revered in antiquity as the stone of the moon and the goddess, and in many cultures, it was considered a protective stone for travelers. The teardrop shape gives the strand a special elegance – the curved silhouette of each bead sets the adularescence shimmer in motion and makes this strand an ideal starting material for dangle earrings, pendants, and expressive necklaces.
