Moonstone belongs to the feldspar group and is closely related to labradorite. Its characteristic feature is the so-called adularescence – a gentle, blue to whitish shimmer of light that seems to glide across the surface when the stone is turned. Moonstone was revered as the stone of the moon and the goddess in ancient times and was considered a protective stone for travelers in many cultures. The 5mm beads with their faceting capture the light particularly vividly and make the adularescence shimmer intensely – ideal for delicate necklaces, bracelet beads, and mala chains.
