Mother of pearl is the mother of the pearl, the inner layer of the shell. Depending on the type and color of the shell, mother of pearl can appear very different. The South Sea shell is white, the Tahitian shell is gray, and the abalone shimmers in shades of blue and violet. Of course, the mother-of-pearl shimmer is always typical.

Our mother-of-pearl earrings are partially dyed. The dyeing process is carried out by a company in Austria that specializes in this field. Dyeing mother-of-pearl is a very complex process, as absolute colorfastness requires the natural preservation of the typical shimmer of mother-of-pearl.

Each piece is handmade, mother of pearl is a natural material and therefore slight differences in shape and color may occur between models.
