Morganite, the pink variety of beryl, was considered a magical and healing stone even in ancient times. The light blue aquamarine and the green emerald also belong to the beryl family.
The ancient Greeks believed that morganite enhanced one's prestige and preserved love in marriage. They also recognized that this gemstone could refract and redirect light. From this ability and the name "beryl" (beryl), the German word for glasses (Brille) originated.
According to gemstone literature, morganite is considered a stone of the heart, bestowing peace and serenity. It is said to be good for stress and anxiety and ideal for meditation.
