Onyx, strand 3 mm faceted

The name black onyx comes from the Greek word for "fingernail," perhaps because it was used as a healing stone for nails, skin, and hair. Even in ancient times, onyx was considered a protective stone against misfortune and black magic. Therefore, onyx was often placed in grave goods to protect the deceased on their journey to the afterlife.
