Strand length: approx. 40 cm

Colour: Olive green to yellowish-green
Mineralogy: Peridot (Forsterite, magnesium-iron nesosilicate; colour due to iron content)
Peridot – also known as olivine, from which it derives its second name – is one of the few gemstones that occurs in only one colour: the characteristic olive green, which is created by the iron content in the crystal lattice. High-quality, pure peridots are rare, which is reflected in their price. The 4mm spheres with their faceting create lively light reflections and make the warm green shine – a versatile size for necklaces, bracelet combinations, and expressive designer jewellery. Peridot is one of the oldest known gemstones and was already mined in ancient Egypt on the island of Zabargad.
Important deposits: Egypt, Burma, China, Norway, Pakistan, USA.
Meaning in healing stone lore
In healing stone lore, peridot is considered a cleansing and clarifying stone. It is said to help release anger, rage, and pain and transform negative energies into positive ones. Traditionally, it is associated with digestion, liver, and detoxification, and is described as a companion for melancholy and depressive moods. These attributions are based on traditional lore and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
