Freshwater pearls are cultivated in mussels grown in rivers and lakes – primarily in China, which is now the world's largest producer. Unlike saltwater pearls, freshwater pearls consist almost entirely of nacre, which gives them a particularly dense, beautifully shimmering surface. The large fancy crosswise pearls (9 x 23 mm) are deliberately irregularly shaped – each pearl is unique with its own silhouette. The warm salmon color and the expansive shapes make this strand a real eye-catcher for expressive statement necklaces and individual designer jewelry.
Major countries of origin: China, Japan, USA.
Meaning in crystal healing
In crystal healing, the pearl is considered a symbol of purity, beauty, and inner peace. It is said to have a balancing and calming effect and to support skin, hair, and teeth. These attributions are based on traditional beliefs and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
