Freshwater pearls appear in this necklace in their most natural, organic form: as rice pearls in radiant white. The characteristic rice-grain shape of the pearls develops during the natural growth process within the mussel, giving the necklace a special, lively radiance – classic yet unmistakable. The characteristic pearly luster is created by light refraction on the overlapping aragonite layers of the nacre. Freshwater pearls consist mainly of aragonite (CaCO₃) with a Mohs hardness of 2.5–4. The gold-plated magnetic clasp made of 925 silver adds a warm, elegant accent.
