Prehnite is mineralogically a calcium aluminum silicate (Ca₂Al(AlSi₃O₁₀)(OH)₂), with a Mohs hardness of 6–6.5 and an orthorhombic crystal system. The stone owes its vibrant green color to its iron content; it often displays a slight translucency, which gives it a special, soft luster. Baron von Prehn discovered it in the 18th century at the Cape of Good Hope – Prehnite was one of the first minerals to be named after a person. Among the Aboriginal people in Australia, it is considered the "stone of eternal youth." The faceted cut of the 8 mm beads enhances its natural radiance – expressive and suitable for everyday wear.
