Strand length: approx. 40 cm
Stone size: approx. 5 x 10 mm
Cut: Tumble (tumbled stone, organic shape)
Color: Delicate green to yellowish-green
Mineralogy: Prehnite (calcium aluminum silicate; color due to traces of iron)
Prehnite was named in 1788 after the Dutch officer Hendrik von Prehn, who was the first to bring the stone to Europe – making it the first stone to be named after a person. Mineralogically, prehnite belongs to the group of phyllosilicates and displays a characteristic delicate green color, which is caused by small traces of iron in the crystal lattice. The tumbled beads on this strand are organically rounded – each unique in shape and size – and are perfectly suited for natural-looking, expressive jewelry.
Significant localities: South Africa, Australia, China, France, Scotland, USA.
Meaning in crystal healing
In crystal healing, prehnite is considered a gentle, purifying stone with calm energy. It is said to have a calming and harmonizing effect and to help let go and find inner balance. Traditionally, it is associated with the kidneys, bladder, and lymphatic system. These attributions are based on ancient tradition and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
