Smoky quartz bracelet 8 mm faceted

Smoky quartz is mineralogically a variety of quartz (SiO₂), Mohs hardness 7, trigonal crystal system. Its characteristic smoky brown to grey-brown colour is created by natural gamma radiation within the Earth, which activates aluminium impurities in the crystal lattice. Particularly dark specimens are known as morion. Since antiquity, smoky quartz has been considered a protective stone against danger.
