Smoky quartz is a brown to smoky grey crystalline quartz, whose characteristic coloration is caused by natural radioactive irradiation deep within the earth – this alters traces of aluminum in the crystal lattice. Particularly dark colored specimens are also referred to as morion. The tumbled beads of this strand are organically rounded – each unique in shape and size – and showcase the warm, earthy brown of smoky quartz in its natural beauty.
