Dreamtime is a central concept in Australian Aboriginal mythology. Dreamtime legends speak of the universal, spaceless, and timeless world from which the real present emerges in a ceaseless process of creation. The Dreamtime explains how everything came into being and establishes the unwritten laws by which the Aboriginal people live. According to Aboriginal beliefs, Dreamtime events manifest themselves in landmarks such as rocks, springs, and the like. The Redbalifrog bead depicts a kangaroo in Aboriginal art on one side, and a typical dot drawing of the indigenous people of Australia on the other.
