Rhodochrosite derives its name from the Greek words "rhodon" (rose) and "chrosis" (coloration) – a reference to its characteristic, warm pink hue. The mineral is a manganese carbonate and forms primarily in hydrothermal ore veins. Particularly well-known are the banded stalactites from Argentina, which are referred to as "Inca Rose." These fine 2.5 mm faceted beads combine delicate size with a lively play of light – ideal for filigree necklaces, multi-strand combinations, and as accent beads in designer jewelry.
