Rhodonite beaded bracelet, 8 mm, faceted

Rhodonite is mineralogically a manganese-calcium silicate (MnSiO₃ with Ca components), Mohs hardness 5.5–6.5, triclinic crystal system. The name comes from the Greek "rhodon" (rose) – it is named after its characteristic pink to red color, which is caused by manganese. Typical are the black veins of manganese oxide that run through the pink and make every stone unique. In ancient times, rhodonite was considered a protective stone for travelers. The faceted cut of the 8 mm beads enhances the warm pink and makes it glow with every movement. Locations: Russia (Urals), Australia, Sweden, Brazil, USA.
