Mineralogically, ruby is a red variety of corundum (Al₂O₃), with a Mohs hardness of 9 – making it one of the hardest gemstones in existence, surpassed only by the diamond. Its intense red color is caused by chromium inclusions in the corundum lattice. The faceted cut of the delicate 4 mm beads intensifies the vibrant red and makes it sparkle with every movement – delicate and ideal for combining with other bracelets. The knot is concealed under a silver bead. Origins: Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, Thailand, Mozambique, Tanzania.
