Sapphire bead bracelet 3.5 mm faceted

Mineralogically, sapphire is a blue variety of corundum (Al₂O₃) with a Mohs hardness of 9 – the second hardest natural mineral after diamond. The characteristic cornflower blue is due to traces of titanium and iron; the color ranges from delicate sky blue to deep royal blue. The velvety "Kashmir blue" is particularly sought after. The name is derived from the Greek "sappheiros" (blue) – sapphire refers to all colors of corundum except red (which is ruby). Hildegard of Bingen already valued the cornflower blue sapphire as a healing stone.
