Shungite – the name is derived from the Russian town of Shunga in Karelia, where the mineral has been known for centuries. The stone captivates with its deep, matte black and a slightly velvety surface that feels pleasant on the skin when worn. Each tumbled stone is unique: distinct in shape, grain, and weight, set with a silver eyelet that allows it to be worn on a chain or leather strap.

Shungite is a Precambrian rock with a high carbon content – between 30 and over 98 percent, depending on the quality level. The deep black color results from this exceptionally high carbon content. Significant deposits are located in the Russian Republic of Karelia, particularly around Lake Onega.

Significance in Healing Stone Therapy

In healing stone therapy, shungite is considered a powerful protective and grounding stone. It is believed to help stabilize energy fields, buffer stress, and support inner balance.
