Mineralogically, sodalite is a sodium aluminum silicate chloride (Na₈Al₆Si₆O₂₄Cl₂), with a Mohs hardness of 5.5–6 and a cubic crystal system. The stone owes its characteristic royal blue to sulfur compounds; the white veins are calcite inclusions. Only discovered in Greenland in 1811, it is often confused with lapis lazuli—but it is a purer blue and contains no pyrite inclusions. Rarely, it also displays a cat's-eye effect. The faceted cut of the 6 mm beads enhances the natural depth of the blue—balanced between delicate and expressive. Locations: Brazil, Canada, Namibia, India, USA.

Meaning in crystal healing

Sodalite is considered a stone of the third eye, logical thinking, and concentration. It is said to promote foresight and rationality, help with learning, and alleviate test anxiety. It is believed to be associated with the brow chakra. These attributions are based on established tradition and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
