The name sodalite is derived from the Greek: soda (salt) and lithos (stone) – a reference to the mineral's high sodium content. Sodalite displays a characteristic blue with white calcite veins and visually resembles lapis lazuli, yet it is a distinct mineral. Rarely, sodalite also exhibits cat's-eye effects. The fine 2.5 mm faceted beads combine the deep blue of the stone with a vibrant play of light – ideal for delicate necklaces and high-quality designer jewelry.
