Brown Goldstone is not a natural stone, but a synthetically produced glass that gets its characteristic glitter effect from the melting in of copper oxide particles. The warm brown and gold tones are created by finely distributed copper inclusions that sparkle and glow in the light. The faceting of the 10mm balls refracts the light into many small reflections, giving the strand a particularly lively, warm sparkle. Despite its artificial origin, Goldstone has been a popular gemstone for centuries, with its origins often attributed to 17th-century Venetian Murano glass.
