The name sodalite is derived from Greek: soda (salt) and lithos (stone) – a reference to the mineral's high sodium content. Sodalite displays a characteristic blue with white calcite veins and visually resembles lapis lazuli, yet it is a distinct mineral. Rarely, sodalite also exhibits chatoyancy (cat's eye effect). The 8 mm spheres expressively showcase the stone's deep blue color – ideal for necklaces, bracelet combinations, and mala beads.
