Tiger's eye belongs to the large quartz group and is formed through the oxidation of hawk's eye – which is why all transitions between these two stones exist. Its characteristic golden-yellow shimmer with the typical cat's-eye effect (chatoyancy) is created by parallel fibers of crocidolite asbestos enclosed in the quartz, which reflect light like a cat's eye. This large pendant displays this fascinating light effect particularly impressively – set in 925 sterling silver.
