Tiger Eye bead bracelet 12 mm faceted

Mineralogically, tiger's eye is a pseudomorph: crocidolite fibers (riebeckite asbestos) have been replaced by quartz (SiO₂), while the fibrous structure has been preserved. The golden-yellow to golden-brown coloration is created by the oxidation of iron—the preliminary stage is the blue hawk's eye; if both colors appear in one stone, it is referred to as tiger's eye-hawk's eye. The spectacular chatoyancy effect (cat's eye effect) is created by the play of light on the parallel fibers. Mohs hardness 7.
