Tiger's eye owes its name to its resemblance to a tiger's eye – the characteristic silky band of light (chatoyancy) is created by fine, parallel fiber structures in the quartz, which originated from the transformation of blue crocidolite. Tiger's eye also comes in blue (hawk's eye) and red (red tiger's eye). The 4 mm beads are a versatile size – ideal for necklaces, bracelet combinations, and mala beads.
