Tiger's eye owes its name to its resemblance to a tiger's eye – the characteristic silky band of light (chatoyancy) is created by fine, parallel fiber structures in the quartz that formed from the transformation of blue crocidolite (asbestos). Tiger's eye also exists in blue (hawk's eye) and red (red tiger's eye). The large 10 mm beads showcase the golden-brown shimmer particularly expressively – ideal for necklaces, bracelet combinations, and striking designer jewelry.
