Mineralogically, turquoise is a hydrated copper-aluminium phosphate (CuAl₆(PO₄)₄(OH)₈·4H₂O) with a Mohs hardness of 5–6 and a triclinic crystal system. It owes its characteristic blue color to its copper content; the dark veins are limonite or pyrite inclusions. Revered by the ancient Egyptians, Persians, and Aztecs, even Tutankhamun’s death mask is adorned with turquoise. The faceted cut of the delicate 3 mm beads enhances the natural radiance of the blue—the most filigree model in the turquoise collection, perfect for layering. Important: Turquoise is sensitive to heat, acids, cosmetics, and perfume—please avoid contact. Found in: USA (Arizona), Iran, Israel, China, Egypt.
Significance in Crystal Healing
Since antiquity, turquoise has been considered one of the most popular protective stones and a "classic stone for health." It is said to protect against danger (especially when traveling), strengthen communication and expressiveness, and boost self-confidence. It is believed to be associated with the throat and heart chakras. These attributions are based on tradition and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
