Turquoise is featured in this gemstone necklace as a finely faceted 3 mm bead chain in its unmistakable blue-green. The classic spherical shape emphasizes the stone's organic, timeless quality – in contrast to the geometric cube variant. Natural matrices – fine veins of host rock – run through the beads, making each stone unique. Turquoise is a hydrous copper-aluminum phosphate (CuAl₆(PO₄)₄(OH)₈·4H₂O) from the phosphate group, formed through weathering processes in copper-bearing rocks (secondary mineral). The color ranges from vibrant sky blue to apple-green varieties, depending on the copper and iron content. Mohs hardness: 5–6, waxy luster, opaque. Turquoise is one of humanity’s oldest known gemstones, used as an ornamental and protective stone over 5,000 years ago. Major deposits: USA (Arizona, Sleeping Beauty Mine), Iran, China, Israel.
Significance in crystal healing
In crystal healing, turquoise is considered a classic protective and healing stone – one of the oldest in existence. In Egypt, Persia, and among the Aztecs and indigenous peoples of North America, it was a sacred stone of power and protection. It is said to protect against dangers and negative influences, to strengthen communication and expressiveness, and to harmonize body, mind, and soul. It is associated with the throat chakra. These attributions are based on tradition and are not scientifically proven. They do not replace medical treatment.
