Rhodochrosite – its name comes from Greek and means "rose color." Its characteristic pink to raspberry-red hues with white to cream-colored bands are created by the manganese in its chemical composition. Rhodochrosite is the national mineral of Argentina, where it is known in the Inca mines as the "Inca Rose" – legend has it that it originated from the petrified blood of the Inca kings. This pendant is set in 925 sterling silver.
