Black tourmaline – also known as schorl – is the most common and well-known variety of tourmaline. Its deep black color is created by high iron and manganese content in the borosilicate crystal. The name tourmaline comes from the old Sinhalese word "toramali" ("mixed gemstones"). This pendant is cut in an attractive checkerboard cut – faceted on both sides in a checkerboard pattern that refracts light in a particularly diverse way. Set in 925 sterling silver.

Height incl. eyelet: approx. 21 mm
Width: approx. 13 mm
Inner Ø of the eyelet: approx. 3.5 mm
Cut: Round, checkerboard cut (faceted on both sides)
Setting: 925 sterling silver
Color: Deep black
Mineralogy: Borosilicate (tourmaline group/schorl), black due to iron and manganese

Slight differences in size and color are natural. The checkerboard cut makes this pendant a powerful, elegant eye-catcher – ideal for fine silver chains or as a grounded protective stone accent in handmade jewelry.

Significant locations: Distributed worldwide, including Brazil, Namibia, Pakistan, USA, Austria.
