Black Tourmaline (Schorl) bead bracelet 3 mm faceted

Black tourmaline, also known as schorl, is mineralogically a borosilicate ((Na,Ca)(Li,Mg,Al)(Al,Fe,Mn)₆(Si₆O₁₈)(BO₃)₃(OH,F)₄) with a Mohs hardness of 7–7.5. It owes its intense black color to its high iron content. Schorl is the most common variety of tourmaline. Special feature: Tourmaline is piezoelectric and pyroelectric—it becomes electrically charged through pressure or heat, which makes it particularly interesting in the context of protection against electrosmog.
