Here's how to use your clove oil:
For dental care: Add 1 drop to your toothpaste or to a glass of water for rinsing your mouth. Clove has been traditionally used for centuries for dental health and supports healthy gums and fresh breath.
For toothache: Dilute 1 drop with a carrier oil and gently dab the mixture onto the aching tooth or gums – traditionally used for quick pain relief.
In the diffuser: Add 2-4 drops to your diffuser (clove is very intense, so use less) to create a warming, immune-boosting atmosphere – perfect for autumn and winter evenings.
Massage for tension: Dilute 1-2 drops with a carrier oil (e.g. V-6™ or coconut oil) and massage the mixture onto tense muscles or joints – ideal for a warming, pain-relieving massage.
Aromatherapy: Inhale gently from the bottle (not too close) for emotional support, warmth, and immune system boosting.
Culinary use: Add 1 drop to baked goods, mulled wine, chai tea, curries, or compote for a spicy clove flavor. Use only food-grade clove oil and very sparingly!
Application tips:
- For toothache: Dab diluted solution onto the affected area for quick relief.
- For the immune system: Use in a diffuser during cold and flu season
- For muscle tension: Massage in a diluted form for a warming effect.
- For a Christmas scent: In a diffuser with cinnamon and orange
- In the kitchen: Add 1 drop to dishes (very sparingly)
- For oral care: Add to toothpaste or mouthwash
- For colds: Use in a diffuser for an immune-boosting atmosphere.
Important information: Clove oil is very potent and can irritate the skin. ALWAYS dilute heavily before topical application (at least 1:4 with a carrier oil). Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children under 6 years of age. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and sensitive skin areas. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Keep out of reach of children. Perform a skin test on sensitive skin. May have a blood-thinning effect – do not use before surgery.
About clove (Syzygium aromaticum):
The clove comes from the clove tree (Syzygium aromaticum), an evergreen tree originally from the Moluccas (Spice Islands) in Indonesia and now primarily cultivated in tropical regions. The essential oil is extracted from the dried flower buds through steam distillation and contains valuable constituents such as eugenol (70-90%), eugenyl acetate, and beta-caryophyllene. Cloves have been used traditionally for millennia – both as a spice in cooking and in folk medicine for their pain-relieving, purifying, and immune-boosting properties. Their characteristic spicy-sweet aroma makes cloves a popular spice in Christmas baking and a valuable essential oil for the colder months.
Perfect for:
- Dental care and healthy gums
- Fast relief from toothache
- Strengthening the immune system
- Warming massage for muscle tension
- Cozy autumn and winter atmosphere
- Festive occasions and Christmas time
- Culinary use in baked goods and beverages
- Aromatherapy for emotional well-being
Aroma profile:
Clove has a spicy-sweet, warm, intense fragrance with woody, slightly sharp notes. The aroma is warming, immune-boosting, and comforting. It harmonizes beautifully with cinnamon, orange, ginger, cardamom, vanilla, frankincense, myrrh, and other spice or citrus oils.
Combination recommendations:
- Christmas scent: clove + cinnamon + orange
- For the immune system: clove + lemon + eucalyptus + rosemary
- For dental care: clove + peppermint + tea tree
