Here's how to use your peppermint oil:
For headaches: Dilute 1-2 drops with a carrier oil (e.g., V-6™ or coconut oil) and gently massage the mixture onto temples, forehead, and neck – a traditional remedy for quick relief of tension headaches. The cooling effect provides immediate relief.
For concentration: Add 4-6 drops to your diffuser while working, studying, or during mental exertion. Peppermint promotes mental clarity, focus, and alertness – perfect for combating the afternoon slump.
For fatigue: Inhale directly from the bottle or put 1-2 drops on a tissue for a quick energy boost. The intense mint scent has an instantly invigorating and refreshing effect.
Digestive support: Place 1-2 drops into an empty capsule and take it with water, or add 1 drop to a glass of water or tea. Peppermint supports digestion and relieves bloating and nausea.
Massage: Dilute 2-3 drops with a carrier oil and massage the mixture onto tense muscles, neck or soles of the feet – ideal for a cooling, pain-relieving massage after sports.
In the diffuser: Add 4-6 drops to your diffuser for a refreshing, invigorating atmosphere – perfect for the office, kitchen or living spaces.
Culinary use: Add 1 drop to smoothies, chocolate, desserts, tea, or water for a refreshing minty flavor. Use only food-grade peppermint oil!
Application tips:
- For headaches: Diluted, massage onto temples and neck.
- For concentration: Use in a diffuser while working or studying
- When tired: Inhale for an immediate energy boost.
- For digestion: Take internally (in capsule or water)
- After exercise: Dilute and massage onto muscles for a cooling effect.
- For nausea: Inhale or take orally.
- In the kitchen: Add 1 drop to dishes or drinks (use sparingly)
Important note: Always dilute essential oils before topical application. Recommended dilution: 1-2 drops to 1 tablespoon of carrier oil. Peppermint is very potent – less is more. For internal use, use only food-grade peppermint oil. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Not for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Keep out of reach of children. May cause a cooling/burning sensation on sensitive skin.
About peppermint (Mentha piperita):
Peppermint is a perennial plant from the mint family (Lamiaceae), a natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint. The essential oil is extracted from the leaves by steam distillation and contains valuable constituents such as menthol (30-50%), menthone, and menthyl acetate. Peppermint has been used traditionally for millennia – the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans all appreciated its healing properties. The characteristic cooling effect of peppermint is caused by menthol, which activates cold receptors in the skin. Peppermint is one of the most versatile and popular essential oils worldwide.
