For the respiratory system: Add 4-6 drops to your diffuser or 2-3 drops to a bowl of hot water and inhale the steam for soothing respiratory support – especially helpful for colds, coughs and bronchitis.
In the diffuser: Add 4-6 drops to your diffuser for a purifying, immune-boosting atmosphere – perfect during cold and flu season.
Massage: Dilute 2-3 drops with a carrier oil (e.g. V-6™ or coconut oil) and massage the mixture onto the chest, back, or soles of the feet – ideal for immune support and respiratory relief.
Aromatherapy: Inhale directly from the bottle or place 1-2 drops on a tissue for quick refreshment, clear airways and emotional strengthening.
In the bath: Add 3-4 drops (mixed with an emulsifier such as sea salt or carrier oil) to your bathwater for a liberating, immune-boosting bath.

About Ravintsara (Cinnamomum camphora) from Madagascar:
Ravintsara is a large evergreen tree from the laurel family (Lauraceae), originally from Asia but naturalized in Madagascar, where it grows to a height of 20-30 meters. The tree is considered one of Madagascar's most valuable trees. The essential oil is extracted from the leaves by steam distillation and has a characteristic fresh, camphoraceous scent. The name "Ravintsara" comes from the Malagasy language and means "good leaf" or "healing leaf"—a reference to its exceptional healing properties. Ravintsara contains valuable constituents such as 1,8-cineole (50-60%), sabinene, and alpha-terpineol. The oil is known for its potent antiviral, immune-boosting, and respiratory-supporting properties.
Perfect for:
- Strengthening the immune system during cold season
- Support for colds, flu and viral infections
- Clearing the airways in cases of cough and bronchitis
- Cleansing atmosphere during flu season
- Steam inhalation for respiratory problems
- Aromatherapy for emotional strengthening
- Natural air purification
- Wellness routine for a strong immune system
Aroma profile:
Ravintsara has a fresh, camphoraceous, clean scent with eucalyptus-like, slightly sweet notes. The aroma is cleansing, invigorating, and strengthening—similar to eucalyptus, but gentler and milder. It blends beautifully with eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, rosemary, lemon, peppermint, and other cleansing or herbal oils.
Combination recommendations:
- For the immune system: Ravintsara + Lemon + Frankincense + Thyme
- For the respiratory system: Ravintsara + Eucalyptus + Peppermint
- For colds: Ravintsara + Tea Tree + Lavender
- Cleansing blend: Ravintsara + Lemon + Rosemary
- For children (from 2 years): Ravintsara + Lavender + Mandarin
Ravintsara for the immune system:
Ravintsara is one of the most powerful immune-boosting and antiviral essential oils:
- Strongly antiviral: Effectively fights viruses
- Immune boosting: Supports the immune system naturally
- Antibacterial: Also fights bacteria
- Anti-inflammatory: Relieves inflammation
- For colds and flu: Traditionally used at the first signs.
- Gentle & effective: Milder than many other antiviral oils
Ravintsara vs. Ravensara:
Ravintsara and Ravensara are two different essential oils that are often confused:
- Ravintsara (Cinnamomum camphora): Rich in 1,8-cineole, antiviral, for the respiratory system
- Ravensara (Ravensara aromatica): Rich in estragole, different in scent and effect
- Uses: Ravintsara for the immune system and respiratory system, Ravensara for other purposes
- Safety: Ravintsara is safer and better tolerated.
Ravintsara for children:
Ravintsara is one of the gentlest antiviral oils and can be used for children from 2 years of age (highly diluted):
- Gentle & mild: Milder than eucalyptus or oregano
- For children aged 2 and over: Highly diluted (1 drop to 2 tablespoons of carrier oil)
- For colds: Apply diluted to the soles of the feet or chest.
- In the diffuser: For a purifying atmosphere in the children's room
- Well tolerated: Less irritating than many other oils
Traditional use:
Ravintsara is traditionally used in Madagascar:
- "Good Leaf": The name means "leaf that heals"
- For infections: Traditionally used for viral and bacterial infections
- For the respiratory system: For coughs, bronchitis and respiratory problems
- For the immune system: To strengthen the body's defenses
- Sacred Tree: Considered one of Madagascar's most valuable trees
