Citrine is showcased in this gemstone necklace as finely faceted 10 mm beads in warm golden yellow to honey tones. The generous bead size impressively highlights the warm, transparent quality of the citrine; the faceting creates a lively play of light. Citrine is a yellow to golden-brown variety of the mineral quartz (SiO₂); its color is caused by traces of iron in the crystal lattice. Natural citrine forms when amethyst or smoky quartz is altered by geothermal heat deep within the earth. Mohs hardness: 7, trigonal crystal system, vitreous luster. Its name is derived from the French "citron" (lemon). Mining locations: Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), Madagascar, Spain.

Significance in crystal healing

In crystal healing, citrine is considered a stone of joy, self-confidence, and inner strength. It is said to promote motivation and positive energy, as well as help release negative thought patterns. In the tradition of crystal healing, it is regarded as one of the few stones that does not store negative energy. It is associated with the solar plexus chakra. These attributions are based on long-standing tradition and are not scientifically proven. They are not a substitute for medical treatment.
